New Documentary coming 2026
Me, Stardust (WT)
Sabrina Lorenz was born with a rare and severe heart condition. A major operation saved her life — and she chose to make something of it. As a speaker, poet, and activist, she is passionately committed to disability empowerment. On her blog Fragments of Living, she writes about inclusion, anti-discrimination, and ableism, as well as about what it means to be reduced to an illness.
In the documentary film "Me, Stardust" (working title), Sabrina speaks about a life lived between vulnerability and strength, between pain and self-determination.
Director Louis Leininger approaches her story in an essayistic portrait that seeks fewer answers than it asks questions — above all one: How do we want to live?
Much of the film revolves around death — fear, letting go, the unknown. And yet, Sabrina and Louis repeatedly return to the present moment. Perhaps that is where the answer lies.
